Ludovico Sforza
Il Moro (“The Moor”) of Milan
AKA
Ludovico il Moro
As tyrant of Milan, Sforza was not only an eloquent rascal, but a patron of the arts. While he played Rome and France against one another he supported some of the great artists and scientists of his age. Sadly, his duplicities ended his glittering reign with his imprisonment in a French dungeon, where he died.
